Planning

Story Board

My story board was 8 scenes long, however when I started filming, I took out two scenes and changed them for other ones. I took out scenes 4 & 5 and replaced them with extra shots at the beginning of the advert to show in more detail what had happened in order for the women's glasses to have gotten broken. This meant that we would get the character's reaction and the viewer could understand that she didn't have a spare pair of glasses.

Locations

The first location was easy to film in and have permission as it was my house which meant that nobody who didn't want to be in the advert would be in it. As well as this, I know the layout and I could determine whether or not the equipment I needed would fit in the house - which it did. The second location was not as easy to determine whether or not I would be allowed as it was in public. However, I went into the Specsavers and asked them if I could film outside and they said that they where happy to let me film as long as I didn't get anyone else's face in the footage - which I didn't.

Schedule

In my schedule, I left plenty of time to finish my post production whilst also maintaining enough time to capture footage, photographs and edit them. Making a schedule was very useful to me as it was easier to not get overwhelmed with the work that I still had to do - this was because I now knew what to do and how long I could do it for.

Shot List

My shot list was helpful in this production. It was helpful because it was a way of remembering what Shot Types I was going to use for each scene, had a more detailed description compared to the straightforward story board.

Crew List

To of the positions that I put in my Crew List where not used. This because I replaced the scenes with these people in with other ideas - this is as the original scenes did not seem to work in the advert and would have made my advert too long.

Risk Assessment

Making a risk assessment was useful during this project as it made my team and myself aware of any potential risks and how we should avoid them - in the end, we didn't run into any troubles and we where safe during our production.

Photo-shoot for Glasses

I used a Canon camera to take the photos of the glasses, which where set up against a white background with a light and reflector to try and get the correct lighting I needed.

I feel that these two photographs are effective as they are taken with the glasses at an angle, this is similar to the way that glasses are taken in other advertisements which makes it look professional. Although they where difficult to photoshop to make look realistic and get rid of the background, I am glad that I decided to capture these photos and use them in my production.

Music Planning

For the sound in my advert, I am going to use the song Spring - taken from Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons". This will link to the two Specsavers adverts I analysed as it is a classical song that is memorable and as the sounds are not too harsh or loud it sounds like something someone would listen to whilst trying to wake up in the morning (which is what is happening in my advert, the main character is going about their morning routine).
